# Rich Snippet

A results display in search results that includes enhanced elements such as stars, price, and images, beyond the classic blue title+green URL+gray description layout.

**Rich Snippet (Rich Result)** is an enhanced search result format that goes beyond the standard blue title + URL + gray description display in search results by including additional visual and text elements. It is triggered by Structured Data (schema markup).

Common rich snippet types:

- **Star rating (Review snippet):** The average star rating derived from product or business reviews.
- **Recipe:** Image, prep time, calories, number of votes.
- **FAQ:** An expandable question-and-answer list below the result.
- **Product:** Price, stock status, variant information.
- **Event:** Date, venue, ticket link.
- **Video:** Preview thumbnail, duration, publication date.
- **How-to:** Step-by-step numbered list.
- **Job (Job posting):** Company, location, employment type.

Effects of rich snippets:

- Can increase CTR by up to 30%
- Takes up more space in the SERP (the visual stands out)
- Improves the perception of brand credibility

**Tip:** Even if you add Structured Data correctly, Google is not required to show a rich snippet. The algorithmic decision may take time; continue consistently providing accurate data and monitor the Search Console “Enhancements” reports.
